Interbyte ®  is a Belgian privately held independent ICT company. The main domains we are active in are ICT architecture, consulting, infrastructure, networking, development, security, and managed services including managed network services, managed security services and Managed Application Services.

Interbyte ®  was founded in 1994 as a consultancy with its majority of activities in Server and PC management for large enterprises. A few years later, messaging, networking, database development and maintenance, application development on the Windows NT platform and web development were added to the scope of activities.

In 1997 the need arose to handle the continuously expanding amount of projects in a structured and organized way, therefore, Interbyte ®  decided to implement the project management guidelines as set out by PMI for our external projects. Recently, some of our employees obtained Prince2 certification. The Prince2 methodologies are used for the management of internal projects and for software development.

Covering all the layers of the OSI networking model, especially when it comes to TCP/IP, and the applications using it, Interbyte ®  decided in 2001 to use this unique experience and practice to set up a new range of services, the managed services.

Interbyte ®  provides managed services in the field of networking, applications and security. Today, these managed services represent an important share of the total activities done by Interbyte ® .

Recently, in 2006, Interbyte ®  launched the Interbyte E-mail Laundry ® . This new service processes the E-mail of the customer, getting rid of all viruses, including zero days viruses and eliminating most of the unsolicited E-mail. Taking the reactions of our first customers into account, this service promises to be a big hit.

Interbyte ®  can function both as a business enabler and as a business contributor, to use the terminology of Gartner. For most of our customers, we still act as a business enabling partner meaning that we keep the infrastructure up to date and we make sure that all systems responsible for the business processes are available at all times.

Some of our customers have different expectations however, their top three expectations are: firstly improving business processes on an ongoing basis, secondly managing enterprise-wide operating costs — not just reducing costs, but using IT to have better cost efficiency across the enterprise — and thirdly attracting and retaining their customer relationships.
